In re-thinking the site as a whole instead of piecemeal, this four-plex was re-envisioned with front yard parking and a back yard garden. This was done to accommodate more parking spots and ease of access for the cars, but also allowed for a backyard complete with a pergola, fire pit, storage area, and play structure - luxuries in a multi-family residence. Additionally, this new vision allowed for the potential of permeable paving options, as well as considered the square footage of "hardscape". Re-positioning the parking was also the sustainable approach, as the amount of "hardscape" used for cars was almost cut in half compared to the existing condition of the site.
